Peace Fellowship Church is a dynamic, non-denominational faith community located in northeast Washington D.C., east of the Anacostia River. The mission of the church is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who love God and their neighbors in an urban environment that has traditionally been underserved. Fueled by the goods news of God’s coming kingdom, Peace Fellowship seeks to participate in God’s mission to reconcile humans to God and humans to one another. This conviction funds our life together as we strive to tend to the needs of the people of God, our neighborhood, and the marginalized through contextually relevant mission and discipleship. Started as a church plant in 2001, the church recently began an exciting partnership with a local public charter high school — complete with a modern gym — which not only serves as the host site for its Sunday services, but also encourages the congregation to participate in community youth events.

1 part-time employee (church executive administrator) and numerous volunteers (worship, children’s, youth, and small group coordinators). There is a budgeted amount for the Senior Pastor to make a second full-time hire.
The Senior Pastor will provide key leadership for Peace Fellowship’s vision of developing disciples in an urban neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The pastor will serve a highly-diverse congregation that values friendship, shaping community, holistic ministry, evangelism, and social justice. The candidate should be qualified and prepared to preach regularly, empower mission, provide pastoral leadership and oversee church staff.
- Prior experience in pastoral work and demonstrated commitment to ministry in a diverse, urban setting
- Postgraduate seminary training (M. Div. or M.A. in theology or Christian ministry)
- Christian faith commitment aligned with Peace Fellowship Church’s statement of faith
SALARY & COMPENSATION
Competitive salary and compensation package based on experience and standard of living in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
