Deep Grants

Following Jesus Into the Deep

Here at Peace Fellowship Church, we believe that each of us is called to follow Jesus in ways that participate with and usher in the kingdom of God in the world. That kingdom, as Jesus taught us, is already here, and is yet to come. The Deep Grants are an opportunity for us as a community to listen to how the Spirit is speaking and where Jesus is leading us to listen, pray, serve, organize, and build that kingdom here in our community.

From September 15th until October 25th, we are seeking proposals from among the members and regular attenders at Peace Fellowship Church for small but impactful ways for us as a church to “cast out into the deep waters” in our community for the sake of the kingdom of God. Each proposal should start by identifying an area of focus in the community, and the “net” that will be cast into that particular area of focus. For example, if the area of focus was children within a certain age range, then the net that could be cast is an art project for children within that age range.

Each proposal will be awarded a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $1500.  There will be a total of four proposals selected.  The awardees must identify their proposed budget and how it should be spent in their proposal, along with the ways the proposal will advance Christian discipleship, address personal and/or systemic sin, explores an unknown area of faith or practice, or partners with an existing community institution. All deep grant recipients will be notified of their selection by December 1st with the intention of commencing their initiatives at the close of 2019 or in 2020.

The proposal should be submitted using Times New Romans font using 12pt font and should be no longer than 2 pages in length single spaced, including the budget for the initiative.
